John Connell
Our Volunteer Spotlight is on John Connell who is a native Mississippian but his home and heart are in Nebraska. He has been in Retail Management for over 25 years and has a passion for wildlife conservation. Of course, John tries to spend as much time in the great outdoors as possible and loves to practice/hunt with his bow.
How Did He Get Involved With the BGCA?
John was introduced to the BGCA through a friend and started coming to the meetings to learn about our cause. Not only did he find they had a common cause but formed some great relationships along the way.
Best Piece of Hunting Advice Ever Received
A close friend taught him to always be over prepared. John can always leave something behind if he doesn’t need it. Not to mention he can’t wave a magic wand for it if he forgets it! Always bring it if there is a slight chance you may use it. This has been proven time and time again.
What is Your Dream Hunt?
John’s dream hunt would be a Dall Ram hunt on the Brooks Range in Alaska with a friend. Not only can he think of anything better to test his endurance and survival skills but his shooting skill. This would be a dream come true.
What Would Your Super Power Be?
Having a super power could be a blessing or a curse so choosing wisely John would say. . . shape-shifting. He wishes he could change his shape into an animal, inanimate object or anything like a car or tree.
