One To Remember

4th Annual Lincoln Sportmen’s Night is One to Remember

The 4th Annual Lincoln Sportsmen’s Night held at the Lincoln Firefighter’s Reception Hall in Lincoln was a huge success.  We would like to say Thank You to all who attended and for making our fourth Lincoln banquet one to remember.  With a capacity crowd close to 300, it was a packed house.  At this time, we have secured a venue for our 5th Annual Lincoln Sportsmen’s Night. Of course, this new location will allow us to grow but at the same time make sure that our attendees are comfortable.  The support you have shown the BGCA is greatly appreciated and we look forward to many more.

one to rememberYouth in the outdoors is one of our main missions. So we want to Thank You for including your children at this event.  We started the night off with a young lady singing the National Anthem. A youth lifetime hunting permit was won. Not to mention numerous kids were lucky winners of .22 rifles! All of the youth went home with goody bags thanks to our sponsors.  Being steadfast in getting youth involved in the outdoors is very important. With them we keep our heritage alive. Again, we Thank You!

100% of All Funds Raised Stay in Nebraska

Our gun wall continues to be a highlight and all together we sent 40 guns out that night!  We’re looking forward to bringing some great items for you next year and we’ve already started working on that.  Even more, all monies raised at our events stay right here in Nebraska and we can’t thank you enough Lincoln!

The purpose of raising money at these events is to be able to orchestrate and complete conservation projects right here in our area.  For the Lincoln area project, we have been in communication with the Nebraska Game and Parks about the rehab at Conestoga Lake.  The details are not worked out quite yet but we look forward to sharing that information as soon as we can.  You may have noticed the pillars at the Outdoor Education Center’s outdoor archery range.  This coming spring, they will be attaching the canopy to that frame work to create a shaded canopy for the range.  Along with the Association, we were able to supply the funds to make that happen.  In the coming weeks, we’ll be finalizing our project details for the year so please keep in touch with us through our Facebook page.

More Volunteers Needed

As you know, in order to accomplish bigger, better and more projects, it takes volunteers to pull that off.  The Lincoln branch is currently looking to add some like-minded folks to join us on a monthly basis.  We hold a meeting on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss our projects, banquets and events.  With meetings acting as our main source for planning and communication, we are needing to add a few new faces, which adds new voices, and in return allows us to become a better organization.  We are all volunteers and have become a part of the BGCA for various reasons.  We encourage you to attend a meeting and see if it’s for you.  Meetings tend to be light hearted and I’m sure you’ll fit right in.  Our meetings are always shared on Facebook, hope to see you there.
